Tucson for Snowbirds?

Agree with all the aforementioned suggestions. Have done many of them but learned a couple things from this post. I highly recommend eating at least one meal at El Charro's restaurant- but go to the original one downtown (on 5th, maybe?)

If you want to include the bus to the bone yard, they only do that on week days. You can return another day and just purchase a bone yard tour ticket.

Check out Tubac to the South of Tucson. A baby Sedona / Santa Fe. This is where Tin Cup the movie was filmed, Tubac Golf Resort.

And Nolan - tripadvisor is one of my favorite sites also! Today is the start of the Fourth Street Fair in Tucson with about 400+ vendors plus entertainment so we will go there. Tomorrow, probably the Pima Air Museum (on DH's must see list) and then on down the list.

Tour the Biosphere and hike Mt. Lemmon.

Definitely the Sonoran Desert Museum.
Saguaro Nat'l Park - east section has some very nice easy trails amidst beautiful desert.
Drive to the top of Mt. Lemmon
A long-day circular drive through Sonoita to Patagonia to I-19 north for return to Tucson. Beautiful countryside.

Your few weeks will go by fast! It's a neat area to explore.

I also recomend the Pima Air museum and bone yard. Be sure to take the trolly tour, its about $5 more, but the guide gives a breif history of as many planes as he can in the time allowed.

Made a stop in Tucson last winter. Going back again this winter. Will return to all these places:

Saguaro National Park (both east and west units)
Pima Air and Space Museum and boneyard tour
Titan Missile Museum
Sonora Desert Museum
Arizona State Museum
Lots of great hiking
