looking for a RV park to spend a week in Tucson sometime in April. Doesn't need to have lots of amenities, mainly clean with full hookups, room between sites to breath and put awning out . Do you have any good suggestions?

Several good parks. Lazydays has a park, I think it's a KOA now, behind their dealership. Lots of room, clean, restaurant, and plenty of RV's to look at.One campground we absolutely love is around the mountain from Tucson proper but still close - Catalina Sate Park. It only lacks a sewer hookup but does have a couple of dump locations. It is on the backside of the Catalina Mountains and the views are incredible. The sites are long and wide with lots of space between neighbors. Only downside is it's very popular and you gotta book it early.

I would not recommend the Prince of Tucson RV Park. A lot of RVs can't put out their awnings and way too many loud Harleys leaving the RV park on their way to work in the morning. Bill

It is also centrally located to most that Tucson has to offer.Tucson KOAAnother fine option is the Voyager RV park off of I-10 on the SE side of the city. The number of RV's in it could vary form almost empty, to almost full, depending on the time of year. Great facilities for the dogs as well. We met a lot of neat, friendly, people there and they never made us feel "small", even when our modest Winnebago was surrounded by a Tiffin convention.

Live here in Tucson area and suggestions so far are right on the money ... KOA at Lazydays is good and is centrally located but Voyager is great as well - they are far southeast side. Catalina SP is one of the best state parks rv places you will find but it is way north of town. So glad for the 4 days we spent at Gilbert Ray. Unique experience we won't get anywhere else among the cactus. Peaceful.

Thank you for all the great suggestions, now I need to write them all down. Then I can go to each of the web sites and hopefully pick out one we will enjoy staying at. I'm sure each one has its own special characteristics.

The KOA behind Lazy Days. I'll be there a week in April as we have been for 10 years, except the year it was closed during the Beaudry closing. Went to Voyager that year. It is more for seasonal, long term visits.

I too have enjoyed 2 stays at Justin's. Great little park butting up against the desert where u can hike forever. FHUS and lots of space. It's Passport America, so reasonably priced. If I were going back to Tucson, that's wherebI'd stay (again).

Gilbert Ray is electric only with "Centrally located water and dump station" Also 7 day limit.

Nearby on the west side are Desert Trails (our favorite, this is our 7th winter here!) and Justin's Diamond J right next door.

Both are roomy and quiet with easy hiking access into Tucson Mountain Park.
