- Lenny_KExplorerWe get lots of OTA channels camped in La Posa South from the Phoenix area. You do have to point your antenna towards Phoenix and therefore you will not get any Yuma channels.
- tuna_fisherExplorerI haven't had any luck, but what others said, depends on where you camp. I'm not driving all over looking for TV, better things to do.
- SCVJeffExplorerThe OTA guides say a lot of things about reception in these remote areas.. Don't trust them.
In Quartzsite it depends on where you're camped and what antenna you are using. If you are North of town in any of the BLM areas you likely won't see anything with a Batwing, and certainly not with a Jack, especially from Phoenix. The mountains obscure reception to the East... I've tried..
To the south there are a very few stations that can be seen in the North areas of Q from Yuma, none in English as I remember from last year, but things often change in the LP and translator world.
If you look around IN Quartzsite, there are OTA antennas all over the place. Since we never camp in town, nor anywhere south of there, I don't know if reception is from Yuma, Phx, or Blythe or the quality of reception. - Jerry_CampbellExplorer

If you really want to get good TV reception in that area, think about using the biggest "All Channel" Long Range antenna from either Winegard or Channelmaster.
Put that antenna on top of a mast at least 60 ft. high.
Where we summer in Oregon is in the hills and we have the big Kahuna with a ham radio rotator. I don't know where I'd carry that big thing. Their made out of aluminum foil.
The one on the bus is up about 10 ft. so we might make it, we shall see.
Thanks
Jerry - EmptypocketsExplorerLast winter one of the Phoenix stations would come in most of the time.

Never been there so I have no first hand experience.
However, a search on AttenaPoint.com using the Quartzite Zip Code (85346) shows there are 5 stations 55 miles to the southwest. That's on the far fringe of reception with most OTA RV antennas.
Probably just get the Mexican stations. The others look pretty weak and are VHF. My antenna is UHF.
We shall see in a week or so.
Thanks
Jerry - Desert_CaptainExplorer IIINot to worry, the best show in any area in or around Quartzite is the people watching channel. Great reception, it is on 24/7 and it just gets better an better culminating with the RV show in January. Can't wait to go back and tune in! :B
