GordonThree,
There's still 3 open air trolleys running continously between the SP CG and beach and downtown daily also if you don''t want to walk or drive the 7/10 of a mile distance to downtown. You can even rent one of the trolleys for a group party or excursion. There's also about 30 very clean new 10-30 passenger busses (Harbor Transit) to take you anywhere in the area right to your destination doorstep cheaply (like $.50 to $1 per passenger) if that floats your boat! Then they will come back and pick you up and take you back to your CG or anywhere else you want to go. You can go for a sunset sail out into the lake on a schooner or go on a dinner cruise. Rent boats, jetskis, sailboards, or kayaks, etc. Downtown averages 98% store occupancy so basically no vacant store fronts and anyone is safe 24/7 as crime is so low. Landscaping everywhere downtown and the fancy streets and sidewalks are heated in winter so there's no snow or ice downtown then and lots of free parking for thousands of cars. There's a large free city splash pad for kids and the adults seem to like it too.
