We are looking to do Utah this summer.
We are National Park type of family, stay in the park sites with no hookups (35' fifth wheel), do some hiking, Ranger programs, and enjoy nature.
We are thinking about visiting at least
Arches,
Canyonland,
Bryce and
Zion.
We'll have 16 days total. We'll likely push hard on the way there and back to make the trip in 2 days. That will give us
12 days in the parks.
We are crossing places of the bucket list before the kids are done with school, so we do the best we can with the time we have.
How many days would you spend in each park? I know we'll never see it all, but will make the most out of what we have. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Anything not on the list that absolutely should be? If so, what and why?
Lastly, will July be too hot to enjoy anything? Should we wait until 2018 to try to do it in mid June?
Do it when you can do it. Just get up EARLY and then relocated in the heat, go again in the Evening - You will need electric for the A/C.
Ages of the Kids??????????????
Check out this familyWith the Heat - think Water - Lake Powell - Colorado River - RT 128 - North Rim of the Grand Canyon - Monument Valley - possibly slide into Colorado to recharge at altitude for a day or two. Angels Landing - Narrows - Then RT 12 - just so much to see and do .... Really take time to look at the web page for great ideas.
Another random thought - SOunds like you got a two week vacation and added the weekend - lets add another 1/2 day - leave right after work on Friday - go as long and hard as you can but do rest - Wal*Mart - then press again the next day this 4-6 hours will pay off big to get you to where you are going, trust me it will be Big.
Another thought - get to the far reaches and work back - not starting in the closer areas will save you big time on the return trip.
Good Boots - Great Camera - Sun screen - Hats - and really think about some Altitude to cool down in the Middle if at all possible (North Rim and Colorado)
That's all I've got tonight, Best of Luck,
ps
Photo Album Might just help
