Utah national parks

April is a great time to go and the temps will be wonderful. Look up average temps here. This RV park is our favorite.

April can be warm, cold, windy and snowy at higher elevations, such as Bryce Canyon. The roads would be fine should it snow, after a few hours of sunshine. Bryce is gorgeous with a little snow on the hoodoos. It's a good time to avoid crowds and if you are prepared for the whole gamut of weather, you'll love being in the parks in early spring.

Check out Moab, Utah. You can see the Arches Ntl park, Canyonlands Natl park, Moab Giants is a new museum of prehistoric dinasauers with life size replicas. Also further south is Monument Valley.....

April is a great time to visit Zion. It is not too hot yet and you do not have the crowds. It is also a great time to visit Moab.

X2 on all parks. Depending on the size of your rig, you need to be sure to get to the tunnel in time for an escort if approaching Zion from the east. Probably too early to swing down to the GC North rim. You need to do that sometime. Have fun. There is a nice campground about a mile south of the entrance to Arches.

and by size, know the HEIGHT of your rig including the a/c. Our friends were 2"too high and had to park at another park, cancel reservations. Also, they have a duley...and had to pay $15 for special escort thru that tunnel. It's old and wasn't made for our big rigs and pickups.

Each national park has an excellent web site with excellent information on things to do, campgrounds, road conditions/repairs, etc. Here is Zion's and it gives all the information on the famous 'tunnel'. April will be a great time for visiting these parks. Bryce will be the coolest temperatures.

We spent a few weeks this fall at both Arches NP and Canyonlands NP. Both are spectacular. If you camp in the parks they are both dry camping. Fill up your tanks before entering, no water available. empty your holding tanks before entering. Make reservations before you go. Great trip!!!

April in Moab is great. That is the time of Jeep Week. At the higher altitudes it can snow. At really high altitudes like Bryce it can snow a lot in April and for sure turn very cold. We went to Zion in mid May a few years back and it was cold rainy and light snow. So be mindful of altitude in April.
