You are indeed correct, Phil, although we were only home for about 2 weeks total from June through late November this year. Wow, you have some great stories (and memories) from your time at HAFB! And thank you for your service.
We come to RVing from a history of backpacking, so we still try to get away from it all with the RV. While Utah's "Mighty 5" have some spectacular scenery, they have indeed become far more crowded even over the 15 years that we've been here. Because of that, and because of restrictions within National Parks, we prefer to set out on BLM land much the way that you used to while you were here. Usually, though, when we're in Utah we're down in the central part (BLM in the San Rafael Swell, etc.), or high up on USFS land in summer when it gets toasty down low.
