Virginia Camping in January
Any suggestions for areas, campgrounds and attractions to visit in VA in January? We like natural, historical and outdoor attractions. Thank you!

Depending on when in Jan you are coming, you could find the weather not too bad. Of course, you could also find yourself stuck in 4' of snow. Early Jan can be not too cold, but temps will go freezing overnight at a minimum. Feb has been our coldest months the past few years. I would stay out of the mountainous regions and look more towards the coastal areas...like Williamsburg perhaps. Regardless, Va is not somewhere people typically go in the winter. I know we don't plan to be here from Jan-Mar next year.
