WASHINGTON STATE PARKS

Looking at camping in some Washington State parks along the coast in July.
$8 reservation fee + $5 out of stater fee + $30-$40 camping fee looks like $43--$53 per night. Am I reading this right? Seems sort of steep.

  • The sportsmen also have to pay $30.00 a year for a Discovery Pass, to be able to access most all of the State lands. The monies for the most part go for the upkeep of the State Parks.
  • That sounds about right. The reservation fee ($8) is per reservation, not per night and I'm not sure about the outside state fee but I think it's the same.
Our parks are worth it though. No wait, that's wrong... Our parks are terrible pestilence ridden places full of mud, ugliness and VD. Oh and muddy kids too.
I agree, you should go to Oregon.
  • A reservation fee for each night? Seriously? Come to Oregon. WA parks are nice but not that nice.Wow
  • Yep, welcome to WA. The state rates (prices) sites based on popularity and season. I just booked very high demand sites on the coast for our family this August (3 sites x 3 nights x $40/night + 3 reservation fees @ $8) = $384.00) They were the last RV sites available!
  • I think the reservation fee is $6.50 per reservation.
Are you sure there is an out of stater fee?

Are you using this.....WA State Parks

Note: better hurry if you want something on the Coast in July...they fill up fast (up to 9 mo. in advance)
