We will use this Cal trans northern California site The Web site to see how high the snow level is, and how severe a storm is while traveling during the winter months. We would normally not be towing if I use this site.

Very useful to check road weather. Use them all the time in Wyoming. They aren't that new though. You can check old faithful at yellow stone nat'l park. Enjoy it in your living room. :B

I've been using Pennsylvania traffic cams for a couple years. I check road and weather conditions.I also check beach/surf cams at the shore to check weather.It's a help to RVing, but I don't think it's new.

Just one of the many tools people can use when making plans. At least for those that make plans. We don't use web cams, but see them as an useful tool. I almost always pool up an aerial view of campgrounds we go to and try to pinpoint which campsite is what according to the campsite map. It helps me to determine size and space between sites. Also, if I want to be near something or not near something. It also helps when determining which direction your RV will face. Where do you want the morning sun? Or the afternoon sun? Sometimes I look to see where the nearest gas station, grocery store and even a hospital is located. That extends from my executive protection training and duties.

My wife has about a dozen web cams she watches almost daily. They range from the Barrow Icepack to Ushuaia Argentina. My favorite for the day is a costal campground I'll be leaving for Sunday while she goes to Lake Tahoe for her annual Quilt Camp.There is a National Parks air resource web cam too.Lots of fun and sometimes nostalgic.

These WebCam are great --Looks like Aspen got it's first significant snow last night.

You can see the Bells in the Snowmass view in your link. If you look at the Aspen Highlands cam you can see the Bells and even Mirror Lake down in the valley if you zoom in.

For those who haven't been to Maroon Bells or the Aspen area, these cams should give you a good reason to head there, any time of year. Simply gorgeous. Here is a camera looking at the Roaring Fork Valley and all the neighboring mountains. A good way to see how the aspen are changing. Looks like we should head to Independence Pass or Marble this weekend, rather than doing honey-do's around the house!

So this AM I looked at a One Year Time lapse - the round button on the right side of the screen - was that you I saw on Ski's?

If they had this Cam in the Bells and/or on Rt 24 I could save a lot of fuel driving out and back!

This past winter I used an Interstate web cam to determine if the roads were passable before I left home. It was snowing but was not sticking yet. Having real time information was invaluable. Without a real time view of the roads I would not have went camping that weekend.

Looking at the Snowmass cam this afternoon, there's fresh snow on Maroon Bells and even a dusting on Peak 13061. Can skiing be far behind?

We recently booked a site at a park in TN. The very next day I stumbled upon a youtube video a guy with a drone had taken in the park. Incredibly, he was staying in the EXACT SITE we had just reserved.
