Hi AllWe will be heading south this winter looking for warm weather again. We usually go to Southern Arizona and Southern Nevada. We are however tired of sand and thorns when we camp and quad, usually dispersed boon docking which we prefer. So we were thinking of finding somewhere else to go that's maybe not as hot or sunny but a little greener. Anybody have any recommendations?

We have travelled throughout the South and Western Arizona but we have mostly camped in areas between Laughlin and Yuma, and a short time near Tucson.

for greener, you'll probably have to try the TX coast line, from Port Aransas all the way down to the Brownsville area.or, if you don't mind a little winter, the hill country of TX north of San Antonio and west of Austin.Fredricksburg area is nice, Boerne area is nice.

Need to jump over to the RVing in Mexico and South America Forum on this site and follow some of your fellow Countrymen to Mexico. We will this winter. Lots of info & help on that forum about the weather and locations that would meet your needs.rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

"How about New Mexico"....I've seen 0 degrees in Deming in February...can't get much further south and still be in NM....

Most of New Mexico is very cold in winter due to the higher elevations.

How about New Mexico. Not sure if there is any boondocking there but you'll probably find a new variety of thorns.

Yeah, but i noticed more Americans last year. Maybe that reflects the recovery of the RV industry there. I spent one year in AZ snowbirding then tried Mexico and have never looked back. I can't understand why people don't at least go as far as San Carlos.

Tucson area, Snyder Hill SW of town on BLM land, Diamond J is a Passport America park. And Desert Trails is a full service park with lots of activities and a pool and hot tub. Dark quiet and no trains.
