There are 2 Whataburgers in Texarkana. One on Stateline in Arkansas just south of I 30. The other is on New Boston Rd (US 82). Stateline will be easier to reach and there is a Texas Tourist rest area nearby just further West from Stateline. Enjoy your Whataburger. Best fast food burger around.
AS soon as we cross the Texas line in Texarkana TX we will stop for a WHATABURGER Carry out and stop under the first rest area tree we come to - Don't get no better than that...
Roy Ken - John_S2ExplorerPeople have always told me that Tex-Mex is really different from what we think of as Mexican food.
- JRS___BExplorerTex-Mex food in Texas is still Tex-Mex food.
It might be made fresher and taste better than a chain restaurant but the menu isn't that much different. We really enjoyed "authentic" Tex-Mex food in San Antonio but thought there would be more to it.
With all the expertise available here, I wonder if there is something else a person should be looking for. Or is Tex-Mex so popular now that there is no other form of Mexican food.
Back in 1968 I had enchiladas in a Mexican restaurant in (I think) Melvindale Michigan. I haven't had Mexican food that good since. And the hot sauce was liquid fire. Also, everything was a la carte. They didn't give you Spanish rice and re-fried beans with every dish.
What would you connoisseurs of Mexican food suggest a person seek out in Texas? - RoyBExplorer IIAS soon as we cross the Texas line in Texarkana TX we will stop for a WHATABURGER Carry out and stop under the first rest area tree we come to - Don't get no better than that...
Roy Ken - LynnandCarolExplorerIn Rocport..Steve Lew's BQ and the melting pot are GOOD. We also enjoy various small mexican place for lunch. We prefer picking up the fresh seafood and grilling on the grill. I would google the Rockport restaraunts and look at the various reviews as your guide.
- romoreExplorer IIWe stay away from the chains when traveling and seek out local places. If it looks well maintained and vehicles in the parking lot indicate it is doing a good business we will give it a try. Most have met or exceeded our expectations a few, well, we will look elsewhere next time. My theory is there are so many good joints the poor ones will be weeded out at least in the larger centers. Small out of the way places can be a******shoot.
- John_S2ExplorerWe are hoping to get to the Rockport area. Any great spots in the area?
- LynnandCarolExplorerWhen your are in Texas a "snowbird" is actually a "Winter Texan" :) We are only knowledgeable of the fare in the Rockport, TX area and it pretty dawg gone good!
