Are you referring to Sunset park CG near Cato, NY? If so, I personally would think twice about going there. Lost of seasonals, bugs and beer on w/e.
Pretty sure the Link I posted goes to Oswego, NY right on the Great Lakes.
Small Local and right across from some famous Fish and Chips.

As to another suggestion, check out Ricketts Glen State Park in PA. Dry camping, but bathrooms with showers. Two campgrounds, one of which is near the lake. The real attraction for me (and what makes it my favorite state park) is the 22 waterfalls along the stream from the lake. A great hike with the mix of waterfalls & cascades.
