Las Vegas area campgrounds and RV parks

I have been going through and trying to find economically sound RV parks that allow camping in the Las VEGAS area not too far out of town. Does anyone have any knowledge of one?

I’m currently housing seven people in a canine. And we have been told our 2000 Fleetwood boundary is too old for most of the parks. I’ve never heard of this and found out that recently. They are in placing age limitations on RVs that are parking in the RV parks. This is astounding to me as most people take very good care of their RVs and usually have good ones even though they’re a few years older than others is there any other parks in Las VEGAS area that doesn’t require an age limitation

  • I just came from Lake Mead RV Village. They didn’t ask about the age of my RV or anything. It is beautiful there. It costs $25.00 to get into the park for 7 days. I think I was paying close to $70 a day with taxes. It’s pricey if you stay for a few days. They have showers and laundry. Laundry operates with “Wash Connect” app. Hope this helps.

  • Arizona Charlie’s is in Las Vegas. I checked online and the price seems to the best I could find. I have a 2002 RV and they let me in w/o even looking at my RV. They have a heated pool/spa, laundry, rec room, showers and they are next to their own Casino. On the weekends (Fri&Sat) they have entertainment. They also have a few Casino promotions (Bingo and food). They accept Good Sam’s too! Hope this helps!

  • the 10 year old rule is a well known thing, and has been around for over 30 years than I know of and probably longer.   it is used more to keep, who they want to keep out.  If you have a well maintained 15 or even 30 year old unit most will let you in with a visual inspection requirment.  so basicly some places just use that rule to help them to not allow people they don't want in the park with out discriminating.  but having said that some parks are using it properly and just not letting anything over 10 years old in. thoes are the ones who want to attract rich people who can aford to buy a new unit and pay 80 bucks a night for the resort.  they have to keep up apearances or the snobs won't come anymore haha

Thank you for explaining it in these terms and this is exactly what we suspected but good to know we aren’t alone.

  • Welp, there’s more to this story, but based on my 100% review rate and exceptional progress towards not getting post deleted, I’ll leave it at that.
Except for one thing, you can’t expect nice RV parks to not have standards and limitations.

We are all happy you are back in “good graces.”

  • We are all senior citizens and the K9 is a retired service dog so she is not a behavior issue

  • Las Vegas Bay Campground is located in Lake Mead National Recreation Area, about 30 minutes from Las Vegas. I don't think any of the National Parks have age restrictions. I don't know what you consider "economical", but I generally consider consider National Parks a good value and well worth the money.

Thank you for the advice as for the age they are restricting the age of the RV not the people. I have a beautiful 2000 Fleetwood and they say it has to be newer than a 2016… would have never thought we would be testing the system with something like a motorhome Lol

Testing the system?  What are you smoking? Lol

I’m still intrigued though by the proposition of having 7 senior citizens and a big dog “housed” in a mid size RV.

  • I’d think seven people (and a dog?) would cause more RV managers concern than an older coach. Reasonable RV parks are scarce in LV.
