This topic really brings out my paranoia and cynicism.
I think the CG's say they only have one site left, so they:
- can get you to commit at that point like a car dealer saying this price is only good today - just a closing technique.
- have an opportunity to decide if you and/or your RV are "OK". Otherwise, the only spot left won't accommodate pets or your size/type/etc RV - ie; legalized discrimination because it'd be almost impossible to prove.
- can upgrade or increase the rate for the "last spot" - when this has happened to us we realized their "last spot" was almost always a premium site & we always saw many open but empty cheaper, sites the whole time we were there.
Keeping these thoughts in the back of my head helps me to ask questions that keep me from paying more than necessary. They also help me figure out which personality the Dr wants to talk to at that session. :-)
Seriously though, if I owned a CG, I'd probably do the same thing or seriously consider it.
