While most of the national park campgrounds are wonderful places to stay (and I've stayed at many of them), don't rule out some of the state parks, often near by. Some examples include Dead Horse Point State Park (in the Canyonlands & Arches area mentioned by fanrgs), Kodachrome State Park (near Bryce), and a bit further drive between parks, Goblin Valley State Park about an hour from Capitol Reef.
