- ReadyToGoExplorerWe keep 3 list.
1. Things that need to be done in the house, like turn of water, cancel garbage pickup, etc.
2. Things that are already in the camper. We have acquired a lot of duplicate things like plates, coffee pot, camping chairs, etc. We keep this list so that we don't pack triplicates.
3. Things that need to be added. Like drugs, camera, hobby items, etc. - navegatorExplorerS N O W
navegator - Jayco-noslideExplorerMedically related items. A Dr. order for a monthly blood test I need. An actual hard copy of a prescription for a med. Didn't go back as it can be handled by phone, fax, etc.
- OasisbobExplorerAs long as you do not forget your sense of humor you will be fine. I once forgot my boat motor. Really I did. Lists in advance help. I rarely forget anything. Happy Trails
- bjbearExplorerFew years ago, I forgot the remote for my satellite reciever. Had to buy a universal remote. Now we use a checklist that covers as much as possible.
- EmptypocketsExplorerSeveral years ago I forgot my CDL driver license needed to be renewed in Jan. Found out I could get the eye exam done at a AZ DMV office & mail it back to AR (where we lived at that time) & they would issue a regular driver license. Much cheaper to give up my CDL than to fly back to AR to renew the license.
- FlatBrokeExplorer IILeave for four months. Use to pack the whole house. I tossed out the "just in case", "might need" and "you never can tell" items a couple of years ago. Travel a lot lighter now and learned to do with out those "just in case" items. Storage bays are cleaner and a whole bunch easier to get to stuff. Oh, I did add a mini fridge for my beer. That is now a necessity.
- John_JoeyExplorerEach year we seem to forget something. One year it was to winterize the dishwasher, next was our two traveling plants, then there was the time when the DW left her other pants behinds, etc...
What we do now is spend the first night on the road just 30 miles south. That way we have the whole night to think about stuff, and it's an easy trip back to fix any issues.
Things that are easy to forget are: blank checks, passports, tabs for the RV, Christmas card addresses (if you mail them,) and even when your driver license will expire. Yep, last one got me. Trick is to do the best you can, and not fret too much over the small stuff. - LynnandCarolExploreryep Walmart's everywhere! In the past we have forgotten binoculars, NOAA weather radio, and portable scanner. We just did without as did not want 2 of them and they are expensive. So we just added to our list for next time. IF it is your first trip you are going to decide there are things you didn't think to bring, or will see others using things and will want to purchase any way.
- pawattExplorerMost of what you forget can be had at Wal-Mart or other places. Just don't forget to do what you need to do to winterize your house before you leave. Also if staying past income tax time take what info you will need to complete your taxes.
