Well, seems like you're trying to justify your own way of doing things. (...diatribe)
What what seems to you and what actually is may...differ. I don't need justification for my own choices. And I repeatedly said that other people will do whatever they want and that doesn't bother me at all.
What does bother me is the transformation of campgrounds into full-hookup-RV parking plazas. And yeah, you know, a lot of discussion here (on other threads) has been about a lack of campsites nationwide. I wonder why on earth a big ol' RV even NEEDS a campsite. Of course, a lot of municipalities forbid parking on the street--because the RV slab park owners in the towns want to force everybody into their $75 a night spaces. But aren't RVs supposed to not need them...pretty much by definition?
And yeah, if there was a little bit of price resistance and people were at least minimally receptive to the idea of spending ONE night without full hookups, there might be more basic camping facilities available--not everybody needs or wants full hookups. But I guess if you've paid a quarter million for your rolling mansion, then $75 a night to park it is trivial. Like I said, money talks.
