Well, let me give you one example. Fishing Bridge RV campground in Yellowstone Park: the RV slab sites average four times the size of tent/small RV sites in Grant Village. Therefore, four times as many people could camp if Fishing Bridge wasn't devoted to big RVs. And let's not even mention the pollution and toll on the park roads.
So your problem isn't that you don't understand why people don't use their RVs dry camping, it's that you don't think large RVs should be allowed to go camping.
