Once you leave the mountains north of Redding, there really is very little attraction along I-5 until you get down into the Sacramento area.
X2 on Durango!! It is a real nice place to stay. Wide paved pads nicely landscaped with a great pool and club house. There is also an old Chinese Restaurant on Main Street in downtown which is really good.
