Where can I camp next to a beautiful lake or river?

I often see photos of people camping within 40 feet of a beautiful fishing lake nestled in the mountains or a gentle stream running a dozen yards from their front doors, but I don't know where to actu...

Big Lake, Arizona. Incredible mountain and lake views from campgrounds at the lake. It is at 9,000' elevation so this is a spring and summer only area. Access is by very good paved road or there is a shorter route on graded gravel road that many use with RV's as well.

Within 10 miles of Big Lake are is the east fork of black river. Dirt road only but is wide and graded. Campsites are along a 10 mile stretch of the stream.
