Where can I camp next to a beautiful lake or river?

I often see photos of people camping within 40 feet of a beautiful fishing lake nestled in the mountains or a gentle stream running a dozen yards from their front doors, but I don't know where to actu...

Here is the reverse problem.



We were at Lake Lanier COE in 2008 during the peak of the man-made drought that was caused by malfunctioning equipment, which caused severe water loss from the reservoir.

Note the launch ramp and the "floating" dock on the far shore.



View of my RV taken from the lake bed. There was definitely "No Wake" that summer.
