- AtleeExplorer IIIt's one thing to drop a trailer for a few hours, it's quite another to drop a trailer for one or two days.
If you are going to be in an area for a day or two, find a good camp ground. That's what we did on our cross country trip in 2014. The only time we weren't in a camp ground is when we stopped over night at a Walmart just to get some sleep. And then, we never unhooked.mrjspjr wrote:
as we travel to large urban areas we would like to drop our trailer and use our truck to tour the area.
does anyone have a list of secure places one can drop a trailer for a day or two? - rockhillmanorExplorer IIX4 on a CG. Pay for the whole hook up site. At least it will be there when you get back. AND have a place to sleep that night IN your RV. :C
Leaving it alone in a store parking lot? Well, I guess that would work, if you don't care about the contents and or the whole trailer being gone when you get back. - 1968mooneyExplorerBe sure to draw up a contract saying if it's damaged or stolen, they are responsible for your loss. :h

x2. If this is about money I don't think this is the way to be saving it.

A few hours, maybe. Is an RV park out of the question?
An RV Park is what I would do. - the_bear_IIExplorerIf an RV park is not expecting a full house you should be able to negotiate a fee for temporary storing your RV. Many RV parks have RV storage or overflow areas.
We have left our RV temporarily at (always with permission and sometimes a fee or donation):
RV Parks
Active Church parking lot during the week
Mom & Pop Grocery Store with a large mostly unused parking lot
Friend of a friend or relative's property
RV Repair Shop with large parking area or storage
Ranger Station
Fire Station - 1320FastbackExplorerI always check into a Rv Park. At the least its a place to relax, if its too hot you have a pool, usualy gated with security and opportunity to dump the tanks.
