Kind of depends on what you personally like & want to spend. One can find all kinds of places to Gather for the Winter.
Here's a post to a similar Q, except they were about to "Boondocking" in TX. But it might give you a little information to work with. :C Wintering in Texas
Don't get me wrong, I've never Snowbirded. Never been to Florida for that matter. But grew up in the Rio Grande Valley. Have lived in Southern New Mexico for over 40 yrs. Our daughter lives in Tucson (with her MN husband).
From what I have noticed & from the stories I have read, Florida, RGV & Phoenix would have more RV Parks & Resorts geared to Snowbirds. Have many group activities & social settings for those at them. Also be more crowded.
For those wanting to explore an area for new experiences and/or to be more on ones own, I believe AZ & NM would offer many places to do so. But this is just my opinion.
Yuma is another place many spend their Winters as is the Quartzite area. Many drift into the California desert as well. Many use the Ajo area as well.
Maybe :@This Old Post on AZ will have something different to add, but maybe not.
Likewise, :@This Old One on TX may or may not have something new. But hope it does.
Yuma - What to do?
Slab City over in CA
Another :@ Very Old Post on This & That?
Good luck in finding your Winter Haven.
