Where to go...

Hi all,

My wife and I have a toy hauler but have decided to rent a Class C for a weekend getaway. We are looking for something more on the secluded side and would really prefer camping right next to a lake or river. This is going to be a lazy trip, we may do some mild hiking or kayaking but most of the time will be spend at the site.

Don't really want to camp 20 feet from someone else or to be in a place where they have pools, activities or mini golf.

Our trip begins in NE Ohio and we would be happy to travel 4-6 hours. Any suggestions?

Leaving tomorrow night :)
  • West Virginia is where we ended up! We ended up taking the quads and staying in Gilbert on the Hatfield McCoy trail system. Great campground on the top of a mountain.

West Virginia. Not too far away and not ultra crowded.
  • From there, I'd look east, 3-4 hours east gets you into the Allegheny National and Susquenhenook State Forest.
RV Parky list for the area.
