I am not sure how far you would like to travel from Redding...or how much money you would like to spend on activities...
We have taken our grand kids to Willits and/or Ft. Bragg to ride the Skunk Train. Ft. Bragg horseback riding on the beach and/or deep sea fishing. San Rafael to visit the guide dog puppies. Boogie or skin boarding at Westport (little cool now). Just to name a few.
