We haven't gone out on a holiday weekend in years but decided to take a chance this year with the crazies.
We are going to Cook Forest State Park in PA.
I have Cook booked later this summer. Never been before, have you?...
Yep, many times over the last 40 years.
Any "must see's" when we get there? I'm going mostly to see the trees and do some biking/relaxing.
Not a great place for bicycles unless you really, really like hills.
Great area for road motorcycling.
The old growth trees are in the forest cathedral area.
Hike.
Check out the old fire tower.
Float or paddle the Clarion river.
Lots of craft and tourist shops.
Flea market in Leeper.
Horse riding stables.
Go cart tracks.
Farmer's Inn restaurant has a zoo of sorts.
Allegheny National Forest is north of Cook's Forest.
The very first oil well is west and there are some museums and such.
Ride the Oil Creek and Titusville railway west of park. - wbwoodExplorer

Now that is a great idea. Thanks for passing that on.
Hey, did y'all leave early?
Nope. got moved for the 2nd time, but only 1 spot over.
And those folks went home early who got our 2nd site.
Sorry we didn't get to see you guys till we were leaving.
Was good to see you again, finally. Sorry to hear that they moved you. - sher9570Explorer

When we retired we made a pact not to camp on holiday's with the reason being that we have plenty of time where as the working men/women only have the holidays so we let them enjoy. We usually go the day after the holiday and then we have the park mostly to ourselves.
We're the same way, we're retired so we would rather see the young folks with the kids get the sites and enjoy their RV, we can go anytime.
My DH is a Viet Nam Vet and he likes to be here with family too for this holiday.
Enjoy!
