This is only our second year of trying a limited snowbird trip. Last year we stayed at different state parks in Florida in February. Over the years we have stayed in many of the Florida state parks but in the summer or fall. Even in those seasons available campsites can be hard to come by. This year I came upon a rare one in a million 5 night cancelation in Long Key State Park in the Keys in January. So we will be going down in January after we pick up our camper which we sill store in Myrtle Beach. I have 2 nights in Anastasia, 4 nights in Gamble Rogers and 2 nights in Jonathan Dickinson so far. I am working at filling in the dates in-between. I check the Florida State Parks website at least 10 or more times a day for cancelations that will work for us. Doing that got us into Pennycamp and Bahia Honda last year. Still hoping to find cancelations in Pennycamp, Bahia Honda, and Curry Hammock or Sebastion Inlet for January and February.
