I have been to many, but there is really only one I will never go back to, Candy Hill in Winchester, VA. This is not a bash on them, just curious as to others black listed places.

Acres of Wildlife, Steep Falls, ME. Was probably 10-12 years ago now, but nasty staff, denial of water issues, kids running rampant and drunk parents who didn't care. Opposite of what most people's experiences were at the time but none-the-less it was our 2nd least favorite campground. I can't remember the name of our least favorite but it was alongside a river in Tennessee. Wouldn't let my dog stay there. Not a knock on Tennessee-stayed at a state park there that was fantastic.

Lucerne Campground at Flaming Gorge. The only time I can ever remember leaving a trip early. Campground itself wasn't great - a high desert wasteland. What was much worse was that the campground hosts were TERRIBLE.

A campground in Martha's Vineyard named...Cranberry Acres(?). Lets see there was the medivac called in to take a teenie bopper couple off island to deal with a severe case of poison ivy since they decided to do it not in the road but in a horse pasture just before you turned into the campground. I always wondered how they 'splained that to their parents. And thennnnn there was the time the local constabulary came after complaints about the cloud of pot smoke that seemed to envelope parts of the campground. Finally, some poor fool tried to fill his white gas lantern in the tent AND light it and the tent poofed into flames. He only had 2nd degree burns so that was fortunate. Told the then husband we needed to rent a cottage or find a different place to camp. We switched to another campground near the airport where families in RVs gathered but we had a hard time dealing with the AstroTurf and gnomes for a bit so we started camping on Cape Cod.

Baersfield Palms Resort(now known as Desert Palms Mobile Home & RV) - Gunshots off and on all night, almost constant sirens, train track nearby with trains coupling and uncoupling all night long.And this may be hard to believe, but Wawona in Yosemite. Combined with while I've never stayed there, will never stay in Pines in Yosemite because it's too crowded and everything around it is too crowded. (Don't take this wrong, I'll be going back to Yosemite, but will definitely stay in one of the remote campgrounds.)

Lake Wenatchee State CG in Washington state.It was one of our favorites. We stayed there several times a year.Then they cut down all the (healthy) trees and all there was is mud and now, weeds.Absolutely ruined.

RV Park Reviews does a good job of serving us well but got caught by Candy Hill as well. Sort of stuck with little choice.

Red Caboose Campground in Remington Indiana. Right next to I-65 with a truck stop at the exit. Semi's roaring past in both directed and using both on/off ramps continuously all night and day. Horrible noise. Sounded like a jet was parked next to you revving up their engines.

There was one we stayed at in Missouri along the Jacks Fork River that we won't be going back to. It was old, dirty and not very well ran. Little creatures would come out of the walls while you were showering, creepy and one of the reasons for me moving from a pop up to a TT. It felt like we were camping in someones neglected back yard. I tried to find their name but Google wasn't very helpful, maybe they have closed.

We stayed at the Gothenberg KOA also, and the review are correct, don't stay here!!

My worst experience is Pine Grove RV park off I-80 between Omaha and Lincoln. Now mind you, I believe in rules, but read some of the reviews of this place, the female owner, Kathy, is a maniac and a NUT!! If you stay in your RV and don't come out, it may be ok. But try to use any of the facilities and she will be watching you like a hawk for stupid piddly stuff!! Never again!!

Back in the late 90's we took a trip to South Dakota and Nebraska. We stayed at some nice KOA's, but one wasn't up to snuff. It was at Gothenberg ,Nebraska. The roads were full of pot holes,weeds 6ft high in the playground etc. We stayed at a real nice KOA in Iowa and told them about the one in Gothenberg and they said they heard many complaints about that one too.So we wrote a letter to KOA headquarters thinking they wanted to know about it. Instead of saying they would check it out, they sent our letter to the owners who wrote us a nasty letter. It was about 15 years before we stayed at another KOA. But out of all the KOA's we stayed in, that was the worst.I thought, maybe they got new owners and things are better.But I did an online search for reviews and the reviews indicate things haven't changed.http://www.rvparky.com/location/gothenburg-koa
