LOL... I get a lil bit tickled about the significance of beach access to snowbirds during the winter. Having lived in northern climes a few years, I do understand. But, you won't find many "Conchs" or transplanted residents swimming in Key West during January. When I was in high school, we'd get a chuckle out of all the "ghosts"; male, female, young and old, with their little hats, sun glasses, and globs of sun screen under their eyes and covering their noses; dressed in madras Bermuda shorts, T's, and flip-flops, ridin' on the "Conch Train" in 68° temps. Looked like a 55' halo with shades of a rainbow coming down Whitehead St. Still makes me smile.:)
