Willowtree Resort --wristbands??

There you have it: those who hate wristbands and those who don't mind them. The OP doesn't like the idea so wants another CG.

We camped there last summer and yes you had to wear the wrist bands anytime out of your RV. We put ours on loosely so we could take them off at night. They did band checks several times each day at the pool and beach. They said they were having issues with people coming in and using the pool and people inviting guests to come stay overnight. This was causing issues with pool overcrowding and no chairs available.

They will replace the band if they get wet and gross but you do have to have it to trade it for another one.

I thought it would bother me more than it did. Taking if off while at the RV gave you a break and you didn't have to wear it out to eat and such.

Most people that were camping there didn't mind it since it wad keeping all the facilities for paying customers.

Can't wait to go back this summer. Great park to have fun and relax.

The last time we were at Lakewood (a few years ago), you had to get the band daily as they switched them out. But not everyone got a band. You could go to the pool without a band. You needed the band to do all the other things (hippo slide, water balloon fight, etc). You paid extra for the days you wanted to do those things (unlimited). You had to go to the rec center each day to get your band for that day. But you didn't have to wear them the whole time you were camping there.

Sounds like to me that either Willowtree must allow other people in to pay and use the amenities like the pool or they are having trouble keeping up with people actually camping and guests coming in daily.

I get the need but I don't like wearing them. I'm 6'5 and big and they are usually tight.
I don't wear any jewelry or watches etc as I don't like the feel of anything on me.
I usually put the band on my hat strap and it's ok.

OK, so tell me what's the big deal about a wristband? You wear a watch or perhaps a bracelet daily-you can't deal with a wristband for a week? Seems like a very minor inconvenience to be where you want to be.

Lakewood in Myrtle Beach also requires them now. So does the Hatteras KOA.

I'm curious why they found it necessary to have wrist bands.

Their website does state:
"Wrist Bands: Wrist bands are required to be visibly worn from May 15th thru September 15th."
