Winter camping

We need your help. We both have retired but we sold our motorhome for a number or reasons mainly health. We would like to go south for a longer stay this winter (2-3 months) and would like to stay in a campground in a cabin or park model trailer for that period. For those who snowbird in southern states (Carolina's to Texas) that stay in Campgrounds that have cabins or park models they rent for winter months, we could use your knowledge with a Camp Name location or contact to try to get reservations for that period or another period that's available. Thank you for your help. Mac
  • All most all of the parks in Arizona have park models available for rent. Just pick the area, look at some of them and give them a call. In addition to the parks having them available for rent, there are also park models owed by other snowbirds that area available for rent. Just don't wait to long, as they get rented out before fall for the entire winter season.
  • One RV campground we have used are converting some of the RV campsites into stick and brick cabins or vacation homes. We were quite satisfied with it as a campground but cannot comment on the 'homes'

Theme World RV resort, They are centrally located in Florida about 20 minutes west of Disney.

  • Go to Good Sam Camping Directory:
    Clicky

Choose you area. Then check “on site rentals.” That should bring up a list for you.
  • Victoria Palms in Donna, TX in the Rio Grande Valley has 100 suites in a motel setting. The suites are in their own section of the RV resort. Each suite has a separate bedroom, a living room, an eat in kitchen and full bathroom.
  • Expect most, not all but most park model rentals to want a 3 to 5 month minimum rental period. There are lots available but there is a strong demand.
