- dtgunner7ExplorerWe stay about three weeks in winter, and NEVER get bored as there is a lot to do, as well as do nothing. Clean, good roads, pool, fish, talk to neighbors.... We than go to Ft Myers for a month or more.
- tatestExplorer IIHaven't done that, but have done other things like that, e.g. stay in a foreign metropolis for 4-12 weeks. Longer than most vacation stays, short than actually moving there. Places like Rome, Beijing, Budapest, hong Kong come to mind. Not sure I could do it at a place as culturally confined as WDW, or even Singapore, but I know many people who do, 6, 12, 30 weeks never venturing from far from their winter resort, never etending relationships beyond the other seasonal residents. Golf every day, go to the beach every day, sit and do nothing every day. Visiting theme parks might just be the thing that you do..
I knww people who will stay on a single cruise ship for a year or two at a time, but that is not quite the same because your world now includes all the ports of call, and the ships usally chosen have global itineraries.
If your intent is to stay in Fort Wilderness and not do much of anything outside the RV park, there may be less expensive places to do. nothing, and as nice to stay. - RV-1_2n-FUNExplorerDVC, Disney Vacation Club, a timeshare will be coming to FW in the future.
- Ed_CExplorerWinter Settler's Rate went away 4 or 5 years ago. There are groups who get a small discount, but nothing like it used to be. It's a lot of money but if you can do it it's worth it!!!!
- TheAmRheinsExplorerI am pretty sure that there are people who decorate their sites for Halloween, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas without leaving. I always wondered if they had some kind of time share deal or something.
- jbc28ExplorerHilda at the end of the 700 loop has been there continuously since 2008, I believe.
- vic46ExplorerPersonally, I would probably need a rubber room if I stayed at the mouse house for that long!!
Love this comment, not made by me. More than 3 days would likely get me a mouse house pass! - RV-1_2n-FUNExplorerThere are year rounders at FW. Just another nice place when $$$$ are of little concern.
- cruising_spudExplorer IIKen,
There are people who stay at Fort Wilderness that long. People on the disboards talk about several people who spend quite a bit of time camping at Disney. I think this amount of time would give you a chance to really explore Disney World. I would make a reservation as soon as possible.
Have fun. - John_S_Explorer IIIt is great to visit the park but that long a stay is expensive but people do it I am told.
