There were nightly fireworks at the west end of town all week. On Friday and Sat was a KCBS sanctioned BBQ contest with a $50,000 purse along with a classic car show, etc. They're trying to breathe some new life into this place to attract back folks despite the moronic idiots on the city council (google Quartzsite and you will find a treasure trove of info on these jerks).
We were planning on going to the BBQ but it's been unusually cold this week, so... Hopefully they will be back next year with better promotion.

Slight breeze from the north but short sleeve wx on the back side of the motorbike and not a cloud in the sky. Xtal clear air too...
