X2 on RVs not needing FHUs, especially with a MH. We do three months out West every other summer without any reservations, boondocking 5 out of 7 days...staying at USFS CGs Sunday afternoon through Friday morning. OP, you need to learn how to get along without hookups, even if it's in your driveway before your trip...3-4 days should be easy with 1-2 hours/day of generator as you will not need AC that early.
X2 on Ten X at the South Rim and we use the USFS CG at Jacob Lake for the N Rim. Bakers Hole is where we stay for Yellowstone...couple miles N of W Yellowstone. None of these CGs take reservations and cost $6-8 BUT don't show up Friday afternoon as the working folks will have aced you out. With that small a rig you will fit in most of the sites in these CGs making it easy without reservations. We put as many miles on our car as the MH on these summer trips and it gets 3X the mpg.
