Yellowstone Fishing Bridge Length?

We are taking a month long trip in Sept and will be going from Florida to the Rocky Mountain National Park area and to Yellowstone. There are vacancies at Fishing Bridge for our dates (we are flexible) for RV's of up to 35ft in length but none for 40ft. My 5th wheel is 37ft without the truck - Will the 35ft sites be ok even though I am over by a foot or so and do they count the tow truck length as well?

If not, any recommendations for the East side of Yellowstone as we will probably go to RMNP area (Estes Park actually) first and then North to Yellowstone. I know there are some in the Cody area but that is almost an hour drive just to get to Yellowstone.

Thanks
Ron S

  • Thanks, Glad to hear I can squeeze a 36-37' 5th wheel into the 35' spots,,,,looks like they have room in the inn for the dates we are considering. If not then the Yellowstone Valley Inn and RV park is a definite possiblity as its a lot closer then Cody and I would prefer not to have to drive to the West Yellowstone area. We stayed in West Yellowtone in a hotel a few years back - remember watching snowmobiles running up and down the streets and it was only like Nov 1st - lot different weather then Central Florida.

  • Yellowstone Valley Inn and RV Park is about 33 miles from Yellowstone entrance. Not fancy but easy drive to the park. I would make reservations as they were booked up both times we were there.
  • when I was there years back, many of the sites had wooden posts in the ground at the end. many/most of those posts were slanted backwards where the RV had bumped them. be careful on your site to be sure one doesn't catch anything on your RV.

  • Truck does not count - at FB the sites are wide and you park the truck next to your Rv - I was there on 9/14/14 for 5 nights - I kept checking back and got the 40 I wanted.
Most of the shorter sites will fit a 37 - as stated above you park next to the Rv - I even say several sticking out into the road and the staff did not seem to care
