Yellowstone in late July with no reservation--Am I crazy?

The large sites go fast at Madison and mammoth. They are normally reserved.
Trying to get one without reservations is what I was eluding.
We stay at Buffalo Crossing in West Yellowstone.
Sometime at Indian creek in the park
