Yellowstone in late July with no reservation--Am I crazy?

for Cody Wy, we stayed two nights at the Ponderosa Campground. It was very nice. We had full hookups but did use the campground showers (truck camper has tiny shower) which were also very clean. The people who run the place are also very friendly. We walked to the Museum and to the downtown area without much trouble.
