I lived near the park for many years, went in one year the 1st of May. It had been a dry, low snow-fall year and all roads were open.
Doesn't always happen that way. I have been snowed on (in the park) every month of the year.
I've seen 6 ft of snow at Old Faithful on the first on June.
It could be wonderful, it could be less wonderful. Just be prepared and be flexible.
