- karmasashaExplorerMy concern camping on the desert would be of getting lost. When I boondock in a National Forest I have roads and compass...and just bought a TomTom.
No roads on a desert, probably not cell service, do you have to stick close to a main road? Thanks, Andrea - FishPOETExplorerLittle Box Canyon Rd North of Mecca, CA

- SanCapExplorerThanks for the nice comments. Sand IS part of living in the desert now and then. It is part of the package and expected.
I will look into a new suit to wear and take a picture :p
Jim - everymilesamemoExplorerHey Jim, if you had a picture of you beside the camper in a space suit, it wouldnt look out of place:B
That is one cool picture! I'm sure the trees and wind are giving you all sorts of trouble
We camped like that and made the mistake of leaving the windon opened a crack, and the dashboard was covered in sand in the morning:E

Nice Pic.
I hope ALL those trees don't block your Datastorm, Jim.

Boondocking in Pike NF near Fairplay, CO
When we lived in Denver we used to go up there a couple times a year to take Red Cone Pass from Fairplay over to Brekenridge, it's a
beautiful drive.
That's Red Cone Pass, the peak is 12,801 ft. - Ramblin__RalphExplorerGreat pic! I love to get down on the ground and take near/far pictures like this too. :)
