Grayland is our favorite and evidently lots of other folks favorite too. This year for our extended 10 day July stay, I made reservations in December and only had to move 4 times over the 10 days. It is often full, especially for the beach loop sites. I would not expect to be able to drop in and get a site, I'd at least have a back-up plan if you can't get in. In fact, that pretty much goes for all the ocean sites for State Parks in the summer.
