Here's my take on the need to constantly "do something".
In my younger days, I would go on extended (10 to 12 days) backpacking trips with one or sometimes two other guys. For the first several days, after setting up camp by a secluded lake, my mindset would be "ok, what do I do now?" But after about a week, I would find myself able to take pleasure in just BEING there, without any need to be doing anything.
Those of the new generation, with their need to constantly check social media and to send "selfies" to all the "friends", may find it impossible to ever reach that stage.
