12 volt outlet

I want to put a 12 volt outlet in my wet bay in order to hookup my winguard sat tv antennae. I have an Itasca that has 2 black tanks there is a pump switch in the wet bay that stays 12 volt hot. Question is can I tap into this line to power the antennae or should I back all the way to the battery??

  • I just did this in my Arctic Fox 5er, it has small bay to hook up water, has the outside shower, black tank flush and 12v power shut off. In the bottom is a hatch you open to run the water hose into it. I pulled power off the power shutoff to power my portable satellite.
  • The hot side of the switch seems like a good place to get the power.
  • The pump is not a water pump its a sewer pump and has only one switch and its in the wet bay.
  • Doubtful, as you most likely have a pump controller to turn on pump from different locations. The pump controller switches the negative.
Do you have a light that is controlled within light bay and not switched from the dash?

You can get wiring diagrams fro Winnebago. Winnebago
