2003 Bigfoot truck camper ceiling carpet degrading. What now?

thats one reason I won't buy a rv with a carpted ceiling.  the proper way to deal with it is to remove it and then refinish the ceiling weather you put new carper up or spend a bit more time and finish it properly.  carpet lets them not spend any time making sure the cealing looks good, they just leave the fiberglass/wood/whatever rough and cover it.
