adding a thermostat

I have seen the post on here before but cannot find it so please go easy on me and help me find it. lol
I have a 2007 jayco octane and my ac unit is not ducted nor does it have a thermostat. the fan runs all the time and the compressor turns on and off as needed. I want to add a wall mount thermostat to have the entire unit cycle. that way I can leave it set high when storing the TH.

  • Here is the thermostat you need:

    LUX WIN100

The internal battery runs the clock and maintains the program.

Don't forget to the replace the battery on the 29th of February.
  • I have seen the post you are referring to and as I remember it just seemed too complicated a mod to do. I think it involved adding 3 relays and I don't remember what else. I think it was several years ago.

I also have a non ducted, no external thermostat AC.

The make and model are important. Some are compatible with external thermostates without modification, otheres are not.
I am not talking about color codes, rather the conrol circuitry, and each will have its own from model to model. Its not one size fits all.

  • It would help to know the make and model of the ac unit. It does have an internal thermostate and it may or may not accept an external one without some modification or replacement of the control circuitry.
