I have used "search" and it did not come up with any answers, so here I go.We have a 2013 Keystone Pass Port 195RB and I would like to add an extra deadbolt. Why you ask? Out of habit I reached into my pocket and pulled out my "old TT" keys and to my surprise, they opened our new TT door. Looks like there are a lot of keys out there to different makes/manufactures of TT that use the same keys.Is anyone familiar with doing this type of mod? Do you have a specific deadbolt that will work on a Pass Port?Any and all responses are greatly appreciated. Thank you, Carmen LD

Check with a locksmith, they may/should be able to rekey your dead bolt to a unique key. Should be a lot cheaper and no modifications necessary.

If you take your current lock out of the door you will see there is not a lot of support in there. The doors on most are nothing more than a frame filled with Styrofoam. As suggested, I would take your locks to a locksmith and have them re-keyed.

Why bother....a 99 cent screwdriver will pop that door open regardless of lock.Don't understand spending $50 on a lock for a $2 door.Changing out the lock will only give you the illusion of securityYou storage compartment locks can also be opened by others with their key(s)

I have unlocked a couple of locked trailer doors in my travels where the camper had misplaced his keys... Some may think having all the same keys in the park might be a good thing haha...Having a different deadbolt would probably be good for when you are sleeping inside your trailer and don't want to wake up with an intruder inside...We never leave any valuables in our trailer anyway... Our spare keys for everything is kept in my truck which has the push button driver door entry key. Roy Ken

I was just saying the same thing to my wife. You don't need locks for 95% of the people. Most people are honest. it is the 5% of the people that are crooks. I don't lock the camper, I also don't keep anything of great value in it. I keep the "valuables" locked up in the truck in the odd chance one of the 5% happen to walk by.

The number of locks in the doors does not guarantee "security" most of the time locks are are only as strong as the door frame.

My current toyhauler uses the same keys as the previous one. Only they both have 2 entry doors & now the keys are switched door to door. y current rear door is keyed the same as the frt door on the old trailer. And almost all compartment doors use a 751 key. A buddy was fumbling around looking for his keys while camping and I had his door opened before he found them. He was surprised.

Our camper has an added deadbolt. It was done long before we bought it. It is a regular Schlage deadbolt that one would buy at Home Depot. A slot was cut in the door frame for the bolt to slide into. While it is true that the door is flimsy, I feel better with the deadbolt locked and the door is less likely to open. Since we have a truck camper the frame bands and twists a lot and I like knowing that the door won't pop open.

A locksmith could have one installed properly and quickly for not much money I would imagine.

BarneyS, we do have a guard dog at our home, living 90 miles from the border and we need that extra Insurance that no one breaches the fence. Ours is a Blackmouth Cur. Not really socialize.

We also do not keep valuables, but still do not welcome the unwanted.
