Andersen Levelers

Good work! I love 'em, but I keep breaking them. Company keeps sending me news ones to break.

May I ask how are you breaking them? I got mine for a couple of years and never damaged any they simply work and are durable.

Thanks for posting really like the cord idea, will do mine next spring when I get TT out of winter storage.

Weight. My 34' fiver tips the scales at around 14.5. They fracture at the 'belly button' while sitting. Very scary loud bang!

Looks like the levelers function as chocks and the other is not really needed.

One of the chocks from my set cracked and when I contacted the company to get a replacement they said
"you drove off the chock end and they will not replace them for that reason" I did not drive off the chock end so I am not impressed...

I have a couple of levelers, they are made of aluminum originally made for changing tires on trailers, have used them for my C they work great.

Without the chock portion in place the leveler could rotate, allowing the trailer to potentially shift. That said, I still wouldn't use them even if I could as we often seem to end up on campsites that slope noticeably to the front or to the rear of the site and I just don't trust the trailer left sitting there on the leveler, especially if the lift required resulted in the tires sitting right at the very end of the fat end of the leveler. As it is I don't have to worry about any of this anyway as my trailer's exceptionally narrow axle spread of just 29" just doesn't provide sufficient space for the Andersen to sit, even if I were to trim the narrow end and round the fat end. To each his / her own but I'll stick with tried and true Lynx levelers. :B

I think the 14.5 may be the problem. My trailer loaded for travel is about 4500#.

I agree with you but since it only takes a few minutes to put the chocks in place I do it anyway. You know, belt and suspenders.
