Andersen Levelers

After getting these levelers for the trailer I had to remove 1" of material from the pointed end of the leveler that goes between the wheels. I also beveled the pointed end and rounded the bottom back corner on my bench mounted belt sander.

The pull cords were added to make it very easy for my DW to pull the levelers out as I slowly back off of them. Works great.

I installed the big level on the trailed so that I can see it from the drivers side rear window. Sure makes leveling easy.

Also shown is the cheap but very effective chock that I built. Of course, one for each side.

  • I have the aluminum Andersen ultimate 5th wheel hitch which adapts goosneck to kingpin. I love it, it's only 38 lbs. I can put in and out in just 2 minutes by myself. From what I have read, their customer service is second to none. I wouldn't hesitate to buy these chocks and I just might.
  • While we already cracked the chock part with a 10K fiver, I love the Andersen levelers as they are so much faster and easier than the Lynx blocks we've always used. I see on their site that you can order the chocks separately. I do agree that they should redesign to make them stronger. And thanks for the rope trick, RVCircus!
  • I've been using the Anderson levelers for years with no problems as well. However, if one should ever break, I imagine I'll simply make a new one out of wood using the Anderson as a pattern. Pull cords are a great idea as well. I have always worried about DW's hands reaching in to remove chocks.
