attaching a shower curtain to the outside shower?

Hi all. I love to use the outside shower but prefer not to have a bathing suit on when I use it, if you catch my drift. How to attach a shower rod to the side of the RV which won't impede driving? I saw the extend-a-rod at Camping World, and it looks good, except it's folding mechanism doesn't fold flat, but inwards, which obviously won't work for the side of the RV. Has anyone found a way to attach a similarly shaped shower rod which will fold UP for usage, and DOWN for travel? Thanks.

I used a large hulahoop, shower curtains (3) and hooks. Used chain from 3 points up to a small ring and hooked it to a big shepherds hook. DHs head stuck out the top but that was okay. Me and the girls were fine.

I had all of this stuff at the house so it was free. The curtains did not match.

    Great idea!
  • We actually saw a set up this summer that looked rather good. They had made a 3 panel folding screen. Panels were held together with piano hinges and the panels themselves were printed plastic( you can buy it by the yard) or use shower curtains. I would think it could be stored under a bed for travelling.
  • If there is people around that can see, it's just not cool to wash outside, and if we use ours in places we feel we are truly alone, we might put up a tarp or just a rope with a towel or two to protect us from the totally unexpected.

  • I looked at them online. The reviews say they are either too tiny for comfort, or too flimsy, even the free-standing ones. Plus, the whole point is to be outdoors, not in a dark enclosure. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
  • Just a suggestion, but wouldn't it be a bit easier to get a tent shower? That way you're not attaching any hardware to the outside of your camper?
