My front curtain would come across and hit the sound bar if installed below the cabinets, unless you mean that the bar hangs off the front of the cabinets so that its entire depth is in front of the cabinets. I did purchase some hangers that would effect that installation if I drill holes into the walnut cabinet fronts below the cabinet doors. OR...I guess I could bend those straight hangers 90 degrees and screw them into the cloth, just as long as the bar's depth was entirely in front of the cabinets coming back into the living space so that the curtain could run. I'll check into that. I don't mind drilling into the under cabinet. Plus, having the speaker bar lower would increase the likelihood that it is beneath the TV when I move it out into the middle of the front. So, is that what you used, hangers with a 90 degree bend?
My radio is the same bose radio as yours, perhaps. It does have the cassette and appears to be double din. I just received my replacement radio choice. That radio is the Boss BV9380NV, which has all the bells and whistles of a much more expensive radio (like Kenwood) except for XM but you can plug an XM receiver into it. I have never used XM.
You are correct that the Vizio Soundbar system doesn't include an HDMI input. The optical connection is what I am testing with here at home as I set the system up and it sounds fine and does produce the 5.1 effects. I attached our radio pre-amps out to the system on another input and that sound gets split into stereo and drives the front and rear of the sound bar just fine and so too will it be driven by the Boss radio if I can get it's pre-amp up to my cabinet without wires hanging down - we'll see.
Regarding the subwoofer, if it is under the coach, then does part of it go below floor level? With the slide out I don't see how it could, well, unless that system is pretty thick, perhaps so!! I'll try to remove the drawer and see what's beneath it.
What sort of issues, if any, did you have removing the Bose radio? What did you replace it with? Did you have to do any modification to the opening?
